Gas Safety

July 20, 2008

You must have your gas appliances safety-checked by a CORGI registered installer every year. This is the only way to guarantee that they are working correctly. Never allow anyone without a valid CORGI registration number to work on any of your gas appliances.

A gas safety check involves testing every gas appliance in your home along with the gas piping and gas meter to ensure they are safe. The safety checks carried out on each item are the same as the checks that are carried out on a service but doesn’t include the other aspects of a service such as cleaning burner assemblies, heat exchangers, lubrication, gas analysis etc. The purpose of the tests is to establish if the appliance is safe to use.

Walk or ride your bike when you can
If you have to go somewhere close consider riding your bike or walking there instead of your car. It is better on the environment and healthier.
