 You can’t pick up a paper these days without seeing adverts
“Earn 30k a year, become a plumber.”
If only it was that easy – your overheads alone include; van, tools, insurance, advertising, fuel…. The rush into the trade began four years ago with a report thatThere was a desperate shortage of plumbers, who could earn£70,000 a year.Now they’re saying the shortfall is put at 1,500 plumbers for the next three years, but there are 26,000 on NVQ courses, many more working forHigher qualifications and thousands on “fast-track courses”Anyone thinking of become a plumber should not believe everything they read in the papers ring local plumbers ask them if there taking staff on that will give you an idea how much work is out there
