The easiest way is not always the best way -

Sealant goes around the bath not around pipework to stop a leak

Although it might be easier to squeeze a tube or two round the pipe and hope it will stop the leak , a trip to your local DIY Store spending a couple of pounds on some seals will ensure the leak is fixed properly.
